FusionFeeds.com Update!

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

FusionFeeds is an idea I came up with on the new year’s eve and when I came back from the party I started designing a wordpress blog to write about the latest technology out there, tip and tricks for geeks and of course my opinion toward some technologies. I got busy after a while to start working on my new project… It’s a large project that I cannot unveil right now! but fusionfeeds has been always on my mind and worried about it.

I have this great, amazing friend called Nick!!! He’s one of the few friends I can really trust and who is able to handle this task. Nick Saliba is a Computer Engineering student at LAU! He has always been the one who supports my ideas, helping me in all those difficult moments I’ve been through… I owe you man! I really do!!! You can notice how close he is anyway by checking out the Top Commenters box on this blog :D…

Bottom line, Nick is the co-owner of FusionFeeds.com blog and we’re both excited about it! Make sure you check it out from time to time.

“I Love Life” Lebanese Trend

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

I wana live… I love life….!!

love live life.. what else… we never knew that people love death for example.. its kinda funny now they are even arguing about this slogan.. and everyone wants a piece of the action … a propaganda!
hehe… but as madonna says.. “express yourself don’t repress yourself… its human nature…” damn she’s right! maybe that’s their only way to express their repression.. its o’right we understand..
fusion understands..and has his own concept of life.. However what we don’t understand is their constant arguments and fights…for the love of god..!!
Speak the truth…what are u really fighting about??

AJAX Alternatives? Gmail Choice!

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

Every now and then, I keep hearing people discussing the power of AJAX. First, let me explain in brief for those who don’t know about this technique:

Gmail Not AJAXWhat does AJAX stand for is Asynchronous Javascript And XML. This technique is being used frequently by WEB 2.0 designers to make cross browser website; the client can submit information without refreshing the whole page. But, is it really asynchronous? Well, for an application to be asynchronous, there should be replies without requests (you’ll get this idea better in a bit). In AJAX, there is no reply without request! It should be called SJAX (Synchronous JavaScript And XML). For the Javascript part, it’s simple! it is the only way to have a light weight client side (instead of Flash, Java Applets or ActiveX Apps). XML (Extended Markup Language) should not be a big deal since the functions used for AJAX do not require XML.

Is AJAX really powerful? (more…)

Upgraded To Ella Fitzgerald

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Wordpress LogoAs you may now, Matt, the developer of Wordpress seems to be a Jazz Freak! No doubt… He’s a genius ;)… Anyway, Wordpress 2.1 has been called Ella (Fitzgerald).

Yesterday, I upgraded all my wordpress plugins and the wordpress itself to 2.1. It seems that the upgrade was successful! If you notice anything strange after the update, please write a comment here!

Better Use Of Mozilla Firefox

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

Google toolbar is a great tool! but fitting all the extensions I love in Firefox was not a great idea until I found out a way to customize my browser. Most of you have a medium screen resolution (1280×800 Wide Screen or 1024×768 Normal Screen). Check out the layers you have in Firefox under the Navigation Toolbar. Most of us have the Bookmarks, Google and Tabs toolbars! And some people have more toolbars like MySpace extension or StumbleUpon. Now, the idea is taking from every toolbar the buttons you need and placing them in a place that you cannot remove! So? What about the Menu Bar? Bingo! That’s how you do that:

  • Make sure that all your toolbars are installed.
  • Right click on any toolbar and press Customize.
  • Drag and drop the items you need to the upper space (Near the Menu Bar).
  • Remove the non useful stuff. (Example: The search field in the google toolbar is already there in Firefox Search box. So why not removing it?)
  • Use folders in bookmarks and create trees of bookmarks categories
  • You’ll have more than 60 pixels of height added to the Web Page View Port
  • Here’s a screenshot of my bookmarks:

Sahara’s Fate - The Nomadic Nightmare

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I composed a song when I was 18 years old, and I would like to share it with you and take your opinion! It’s an Oriental Progressive Metal instrumental, it’s kinda symphonic because there exist 17 instruments. The recording of this piece was done on my old desktop pc; I looked everywhere by that time for Sound Fonts and found interesting ones. I did not know enough about DXi and VXTi (Virtual Instruments) by that time but I managed very well with sound fonts.

The Nomadic NightmareThis song is called “Sahara’s Fate”. Why Sahara’s Fate? well, there are no lyrics, but you will see how this piece expressed my story or my version of the very well known myth “Noah’s Arc”. The hero in this song is Dramata who is a beast sent by God to clean up the earth! By that time, God was angry because of the human behavior. Dramata was the flood that covered the whole Sahara! Only one man and woman stood outside the gate, they had the honor to establish a new life style. This is in brief the theme of this song, you might want to read the lyrics of this song which were never sang! I think this song expressed my story musically much better. In the end, I’m not anymore into this kind of music but I’m still so much interested in Mythology which cannot really be expressed with my current style of music (Jazz/Blues). I cannot deny that this is the piece of music that took time the most (around 3 months) and it’s still one of my favorite compositions. You will notice that I did not record any guitar with this piece because I couldn’t afford paying for a studio, even though, I had a chance to record in a professional studio but after few sessions things started to get messed up because time was not that year a friend of mine and my manager/friend Bash. Anyway… enough talking! Listen to Sahara’s Fate and give me your opinion:
