Google PageRank: You Raise Me Up
If you have a blog or a website, one of your important goals is to raise your Google Pagerank. Why? Because a higher Pagerank will give you more credibility into your business or persuasive articles. Fortunately, this blog’s Pagerank is 5 which is very good for a personal blog. It took me 3 years to have this pagerank! I’m not going to explain how to get a higher Pagerank, but Search Engine Optimization specialists say that more backward links from higher pageranked websites to your website will help you raise your Google Pagerank.
To see your Google Pagerank, you can install the Google Toolbar. Or, I have created a simple Java Program that shows you your pagerank and I’ve provided the source code. Check it out!

Looking forward to read an article on : “How to increase your pagerank” .
@Elio: I’ll write an article about that soon.
I originally started on wordpress and eventually got my own domain. My pagerank was very high when using WP, but it went back down again! Looks like I gotta start from scratch again. Look forward to the article!
Page Rank is very important, there are many ways to increase it. I am surprised it took you 3 years to get to 5. Anyhow every webmaster should be looking to increase their page rank, alexa ranking and back links.
It turns out it’s actually quite time consuming to try to get your site rating up in Google, but I suppose that’s actually a good thing if you want to be able to trust Google’s results. I have to admit, though, that it’s odd to search your own name and find that references to your name on your site are lower ranked than obituaries with similar names.

Haha , i think Pr is something very easy to get if you know what your way around , and if you are patient
. Although i am newbie in blogging and web development (1st blog opened 7 months ago, after that one more and one website), well, i can say i know my way around
. I managed to get PR2 in just 4 months , and then PR3 in 6th month. I am hoping for PR4 after next google dance
I think it’s easy if you have the time to devote to it, but otherwise, it’s hard to move your site up a rank.
I agree with you that pagerank gives your page some prestige. However, I have found that some of my very plain, simple, never updated sites get better page rank than my more active sites. Have not been able to figure that one out.
