Do you love abstract drawing? I definitely do. I published 2 months ago a Java Applet to draw Snowflakes and I’m going to release an update next week because it contains some huge bloody bugs
. But now, I’m gonna show you something a bit more cool! I was inspired at first by Microsoft’s Silverlight project Logo! I really love it… This is basically what you will be drawing:

Try it!

Do you hold an MTC Touch fixed line? We have developed at Fusion Media Labs a nice and simple tool that keeps you up-to-date with your MTC Touch bill.
Why did we develop that? Simply not to get chocked in the end of every month! This way you can keep track of your bill status every time it updates and you’ll get a Toast Notification on the bottom right of your desktop (Similar to MSN Messenger’s notifications).
Here’s a screenshot of the application:

Note that Java 1.6 is required (Get it at http://www.java.com)

I had enough troubles this month while I was transferring this blog and some other websites to a new dedicated server. The fact is that I suck in server administration and it’s not at all my main focus. So what happened is that when I moved my websites including this blog to the new dedicated server, it crashed in less than a week and I lost about 3 articles because I didn’t have backups… I’m sorry for all those friends who commented on these new posts! Now they’re gone. Anyway, I wanted to find a good shared hosting plan to host my websites, so I’ve done researches for about a week and asked for reviews from webmasters about some known hosting plans; and guess what? Hostgator.com Baby hosting plan was the best… No one ever had a problem with that hosting company, amazing support really!
So… I hope I won’t get into troubles anymore because I’m really sick of transferring my websites, backing up and stuff!

The version 3 design of Fusion Live Blog was created in 2 days. The version 2 design was basicaly inspired by Mac OSX (iPod) website’s theme which consisted of a black background and rich in colors links. Obviously, this new design was inspired by Microsoft Office 2003/2007. Inspired by Microsoft yea! and showing the Linux Tux on the top of the page
(fusion). Anyway, I have always been a big fan of Windows graphical user interface.
I’m still experimenting the Google Adsense performance on WordPress blogs. If this template performs well, I’ll release it for free and I will also release soon the Version 2 design of Fusion Live Blog… Stay tuned!

I was working on a module for an application of mine, and I’ve been struggling and searching in order to come up with a Google PageRank detector. I came up with a cool and accurate solution and I would love to share it with you.
I uploaded a Java Web Start small application! Check it out here
Btw, Java Runtime Environment is required, get it from java.com
Edit: The source code is available here.

FusionFeeds is an idea I came up with on the new year’s eve and when I came back from the party I started designing a wordpress blog to write about the latest technology out there, tip and tricks for geeks and of course my opinion toward some technologies. I got busy after a while to start working on my new project… It’s a large project that I cannot unveil right now! but fusionfeeds has been always on my mind and worried about it.
I have this great, amazing friend called Nick!!! He’s one of the few friends I can really trust and who is able to handle this task. Nick Saliba is a Computer Engineering student at LAU! He has always been the one who supports my ideas, helping me in all those difficult moments I’ve been through… I owe you man! I really do!!! You can notice how close he is anyway by checking out the Top Commenters box on this blog
…
Bottom line, Nick is the co-owner of FusionFeeds.com blog and we’re both excited about it! Make sure you check it out from time to time.

Every now and then, I keep hearing people discussing the power of AJAX. First, let me explain in brief for those who don’t know about this technique:
What does AJAX stand for is Asynchronous Javascript And XML. This technique is being used frequently by WEB 2.0 designers to make cross browser website; the client can submit information without refreshing the whole page. But, is it really asynchronous? Well, for an application to be asynchronous, there should be replies without requests (you’ll get this idea better in a bit). In AJAX, there is no reply without request! It should be called SJAX (Synchronous JavaScript And XML). For the Javascript part, it’s simple! it is the only way to have a light weight client side (instead of Flash, Java Applets or ActiveX Apps). XML (Extended Markup Language) should not be a big deal since the functions used for AJAX do not require XML.
Is AJAX really powerful? Continue reading »

As you may now, Matt, the developer of WordPress seems to be a Jazz Freak! No doubt… He’s a genius
… Anyway, WordPress 2.1 has been called Ella (Fitzgerald).
Yesterday, I upgraded all my wordpress plugins and the wordpress itself to 2.1. It seems that the upgrade was successful! If you notice anything strange after the update, please write a comment here!
Desafinado!!!
