If you have a blog or a website, one of your important goals is to raise your Google Pagerank. Why? Because a higher Pagerank will give you more credibility into your business or persuasive articles. Fortunately, this blog’s Pagerank is 5 which is very good for a personal blog. It took me 3 years to have this pagerank! I’m not going to explain how to get a higher Pagerank, but Search Engine Optimization specialists say that more backward links from higher pageranked websites to your website will help you raise your Google Pagerank.
This is something I couldn’t expect to be done anytime soon by either Google Maps or Live Maps. It’s exciting that I can finally see the Maps of Lebanon, even the small village where I live got a label!
The question is now, will I be able to use the GPS/Google Maps on my iPhone in Lebanon? That would be awesome, especially that I always get lost in beirut .
Speaking about Google Maps and iPhones, I have a big surprise for the Woopra community who got iPhones! I’ll talk about it in the right time.
Thank you Google.
Update: iPhone updated their maps to show Lebanese Maps! I can’t wait to test it in few days (Thanks ElieDH and Wadih)
PS: Wadih Ghsoubi pointed me out to this Google Maps update.
Overcoming the odds, Lebanese software gurus enter internet eminence
The world’s most popular internet applications, including Yahoo, Google, Facebook and YouTube, share several interesting characteristics. Nearly all were developed by students enrolled in American universities and nearly all were aided by an American venture capital injection to successfully enter the market. Lebanese-born Elie Khoury and Jad Younan have followed more or less the same path, yet with one major difference: they developed their Woopra program in Lebanon. Against all odds, some may argue, as the Land of the Cedars can hardly be described as an IT incubator.
Both Khoury and Younan graduated from the Lebanese American University in Byblos in 2007 with a degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, respectively. They spent many hours in class, but they spent many more nights working late on Woopra, a live tracking and analytics service that aims to send market leader Google Analytics into oblivion.
How should we react? There’s nothing we can do about it since we don’t know which invitation codes the seller has. Is it that bad? I think it’s cool . This shows the enthusiasm of the Woopers! As I’m writing this post, the last bid is 15$.
FusionFeeds is an idea I came up with on the new year’s eve and when I came back from the party I started designing a wordpress blog to write about the latest technology out there, tip and tricks for geeks and of course my opinion toward some technologies. I got busy after a while to start working on my new project… It’s a large project that I cannot unveil right now! but fusionfeeds has been always on my mind and worried about it.
I have this great, amazing friend called Nick!!! He’s one of the few friends I can really trust and who is able to handle this task. Nick Saliba is a Computer Engineering student at LAU! He has always been the one who supports my ideas, helping me in all those difficult moments I’ve been through… I owe you man! I really do!!! You can notice how close he is anyway by checking out the Top Commenters box on this blog …
Bottom line, Nick is the co-owner of FusionFeeds.com blog and we’re both excited about it! Make sure you check it out from time to time.
As you may now, Matt, the developer of WordPress seems to be a Jazz Freak! No doubt… He’s a genius … Anyway, WordPress 2.1 has been called Ella (Fitzgerald).
Yesterday, I upgraded all my wordpress plugins and the wordpress itself to 2.1. It seems that the upgrade was successful! If you notice anything strange after the update, please write a comment here!
