This is something I couldn’t expect to be done anytime soon by either Google Maps or Live Maps. It’s exciting that I can finally see the Maps of Lebanon, even the small village where I live got a label!
The question is now, will I be able to use the GPS/Google Maps on my iPhone in Lebanon? That would be awesome, especially that I always get lost in beirut :D.
Speaking about Google Maps and iPhones, I have a big surprise for the Woopra community who got iPhones! I’ll talk about it in the right time.
Thank you Google.
Update: iPhone updated their maps to show Lebanese Maps! I can’t wait to test it in few days (Thanks ElieDH and Wadih)
PS: Wadih Ghsoubi pointed me out to this Google Maps update.
Recently, Google is acting really weird… Their shares prices are increasing very fast (From around $400 2 years ago to more than 600$ today)… Google is monopolizing the WWW just like the may Microsoft has been monopolizing the desktop market for decades. Today, Google is making more and more enemies by following some stupid strategies. I can never trust Google anymore! I see bad reviews everywhere and webmaster have become a bit more aware. How does it feel like to see a Page Ranked 8 blog dropping to 5 (The very popular blog: OneMansBlog.com). Webmasters are doing what Google asks and guess what, they’re getting punished!
How many times have you ever checked their Adsense Optimization Tips! I did so many times follow their tips and I end up “Smart Priced”. I mean why shall I show Google Ads on the top of my page to make it more noticed but the ad click will have a lower probability to make a conversion then you get smart priced (Your ad click price drops damatically). Imagine earning around 0.4$ per click, and you have around 150 ad clicks on your websites daily! You might wanna rely on that average of 1800$ per month and maybe quit your Job… But listen, Google is the one you cannot trust today… They can ban you at anytime, or maybe lowering the CPC on your websites 10 times and you end up earning around 200$ if not less with no alternative job! I mean if one of the best and most ethical bloggers (example: John - OneMansBlog.com) gets punished, how can you trust such a system?
I decided last week to remove my Adsense Ads from all my websites and tried WidgetBucks! Guess what! I’m making 10 times more with that system, their widgets are cool. Google ads have become so popular that a non technical grandmother would recognize them as Ads… I have a higher CTR with Widget Ads, higher CPC and I can choose what ads to publish. Sign up here and you can try it along with Google Ads… I’m still experimenting with WidgetBucks, they’re making a huge buzz on the net. They’re new of course and you can never know whether they’re gonna make it or not, but giving them a shot is worth it!
I referred a friend of mine (Dany - Web Developer) and he was like WTF? I made in few hours what I made in Adsense the whole day :D.
So, if you try this new system, please write me back some reviews please
Note that the links for WidgetBucks provided on this page are not direct, they are referrals. So make sure you show a referral link on your blog too. If you don’t wanna make it through my referral link, simply visit widgetbucks.com
Happy earnings and please share your experience!
Stay tuned
I was working on a module for an application of mine, and I’ve been struggling and searching in order to come up with a Google PageRank detector. I came up with a cool and accurate solution and I would love to share it with you.
Every now and then, I keep hearing people discussing the power of AJAX. First, let me explain in brief for those who don’t know about this technique:
What does AJAX stand for is Asynchronous Javascript And XML. This technique is being used frequently by WEB 2.0 designers to make cross browser website; the client can submit information without refreshing the whole page. But, is it really asynchronous? Well, for an application to be asynchronous, there should be replies without requests (you’ll get this idea better in a bit). In AJAX, there is no reply without request! It should be called SJAX (Synchronous JavaScript And XML). For the Javascript part, it’s simple! it is the only way to have a light weight client side (instead of Flash, Java Applets or ActiveX Apps). XML (Extended Markup Language) should not be a big deal since the functions used for AJAX do not require XML.
As I’m reading other blogs, I found out that too many bloggers are posting their AdSense checks. I decided to show you one of mine. (Now you’ve got an answer all of you who are asking me how much I can make with adsense, but guys, It’s not my goal… )
Google Inc. is introducing a new search service that only a geek could love.
The Web search leader said late on Wednesday it is introducing Google Code Search, a site that simplifies how software developers search for programming code to improve existing software or create new programs.
Google product manager Tom Stocky said the Mountain View, California-based company is set to help programmers sift through billions of lines of computer source code using its familiar search box to uncover snippets of reusable software.
